Built by a Collector, for Collectors
Vaultry isn't backed by a team or a company. It's a one-person project born out of frustration with the tools that already existed.
The backstory
I started collecting and quickly realized I had no good way to keep track of everything. Spreadsheets got messy. Paper logs got lost. The handful of apps out there were either way too complex, locked behind enterprise pricing, or just didn't have the features I actually needed.
So I built what I wanted: a clean, straightforward app to document my collection. Serial numbers, photos, purchase details, condition notes, all in one place and accessible from any device.
Once it was working for me, I figured other collectors probably had the same problem. So I opened it up.
What drives Vaultry
No mission statements or corporate values. Just a few things I care about and build around.
Keep it simple
You should be able to add an item in under a minute. No training, no onboarding flow, no 50-field forms. If it feels complicated, it's a bug.
Security isn't optional
All data is encrypted at rest and in transit. I don't share, sell, or analyze your collection data. Your inventory is your business.
Honest pricing
No hidden fees, no bait-and-switch, no feature gates designed to force upgrades. Pick a tier that fits your collection size and that's it.
Your data is yours
Export your entire collection anytime as a portable ZIP — data plus photos, in open formats you can read with any tool. Daily backups happen automatically while you're a customer. No proprietary lock-in.
No AI, ever
Your collection data is never fed to AI models. No auto-categorization, no "smart" features, no training. Just reliable tools that respect your data.
What you're getting into
Vaultry is a solo project. That means I can move fast, listen to feedback directly, and ship features that actually matter to collectors. It also means I'm upfront about what this is: a passion project built with real care, not a VC-funded startup chasing growth metrics.
The infrastructure runs on secure cloud providers with encryption everywhere and automated daily backups. I hold it to the same standard I'd want for my own collection data, because it is.
