A passkey lets you sign in with the same thing you use to unlock your device — Face ID, Touch ID, Windows Hello, or a hardware security key. It's faster than a password and can't be phished or reused, because the secret never leaves your device.
Add a passkey
- Go to Settings → Security.
- Choose Add a passkey.
- Follow your device's prompt — Face ID / Touch ID on Apple devices, Windows Hello on Windows, or your security key.
That's it. The passkey is now tied to your Vaultry account and that device.
Sign in with it
On the login page, choose the passkey option and confirm with your device's biometric or PIN. No password to type.
Manage your passkeys
From Settings → Security you can see every passkey on your account and remove any you no longer use (an old phone, a shared computer). Add passkeys on each device you regularly use so you always have a quick way in.
Passkeys and 2FA together
A passkey is already strong two-factor by design (something you have — the device — plus something you are — your biometric). Keeping authenticator-app 2FA enabled as well gives you a fallback if you're ever on a device without your passkey. Either way, save your recovery codes.
