Two-factor authentication (2FA) means that even if someone learns your password, they still can't get into your account without a second code from your phone. Vaultry supports authenticator-app two-factor, and we strongly recommend turning it on.
Turn it on
- Go to Settings → Security.
- Choose Set up two-factor authentication.
- Scan the QR code with an authenticator app — Google Authenticator, Authy, 1Password, or any TOTP app.
- Enter the 6-digit code the app shows to confirm the pairing.
From now on, signing in asks for your password and a current code from the app.
Save your recovery codes
When you enable 2FA, Vaultry shows a set of one-time recovery codes. These are your backup if you ever lose your phone.
- Save them somewhere safe — a password manager, or printed and stored with your important documents.
- Each code works once. When you use one to sign in, cross it off.
- You can regenerate a fresh set anytime from Settings → Security (which invalidates the old ones).
Without your authenticator app and without a recovery code, we can't instantly restore access — 2FA is doing its job of keeping everyone else out too. So save those codes.
Turn it off or re-pair
From Settings → Security you can disable 2FA or set it up again on a new phone. Both ask you to confirm with a current code first.
