You don't have to type everything. For several item types, Vaultry can look up the details from a number you already have — and these lookups are free on every plan, with no API key to set up.
What you can auto-fill for free
- Vehicles — VIN. Enter or scan a 17-character VIN and Vaultry decodes the make, model, year, and more (via the U.S. NHTSA database).
- Books — ISBN / EAN-13. Enter or scan the barcode to pull title, author, publisher, and cover (via Open Library and Google Books).
- Magic: The Gathering cards. Look up cards from the Scryfall database.
- Pokémon cards. Look up cards from the Pokémon TCG database.
- Comic books. Pull issue metadata from Comic Vine.
- Retail products — UPC. Scan a product barcode to fill in details.
How to use it
- On the item form, enter the number (VIN, ISBN, UPC) or use Scan to read the barcode with your camera.
- Tap Lookup if it doesn't run automatically.
- Review the results — Vaultry fills empty fields and leaves anything you've already entered untouched.
The camera scanner makes this even faster, especially on your phone.
Graded slabs and coins
Scanning a PSA, PCGS, NGC, CGC, or SGC slab verifies the cert and can pull the grading record. Some of those lookups use a partner API — see Connect your own lookup key for when a key is involved. For PSA specifically, a big collection is usually fastest via PSA inventory import.
