Run an audit

Updated · 1 min read

An audit is how you prove — to yourself, an insurer, or an estate — that every item you've cataloged is actually present and accounted for. Vaultry turns it into a walk-and-scan you can do with your phone.

Note: Audits and verification reports are available on the Pro plan and above.

How a walk-and-scan audit works

  1. Start a new audit for a collection (or a location within it).
  2. Walk your storage and scan each item's QR label — or check it off manually — as you find it.
  3. Vaultry tracks what's been verified, what's still outstanding, and anything unexpected.
  4. Finish the audit to lock in a timestamped verification report.

Working location by location keeps a big collection manageable — audit one safe or shelf at a time.

Why audit

  • Insurance — a dated verification report is strong evidence of what you owned and that it was on hand.
  • Peace of mind — catch a missing or misplaced item early.
  • Records — each completed audit is kept as a point-in-time record you can refer back to.
