Plans & what happens when you cancel

Updated · 3 min read

Everything you need to know about paying for Vaultry — the plans, how limits work, and what happens to your collection if you ever stop.

The plans

Plan Monthly Annual Item limit Photo storage
Starter $5 $50 50 3 GB
Pro $15 $150 250 15 GB
Collector $32 $320 1,000 50 GB
Unlimited $50 $500 Unlimited* 150 GB

*Unlimited is a very high soft cap (10,000 items) that covers any realistic personal collection.

Higher plans also unlock features like custom fields, Bulk Add templates, audit and insurance reports, PSA inventory import, and advanced analytics. See the Pricing page for the full comparison.

Monthly vs. annual

You can pay monthly or annually, and you can switch between them anytime. Annual billing is priced at roughly two months free compared with paying month to month. Switching from monthly to annual (or changing tiers) is prorated by Stripe — you're credited for time you've already paid.

The free trial

Every account starts with a 30-day free trial with full access. Add a card during the trial to pick a plan; you're not charged until the trial ends. The trial is one per person.

Item limits and downgrades

Your item limit is counted across all your collections. If you downgrade to a plan whose limit is below your current item count, your account goes read-only until you're back under the new limit (you can still export and delete items to get there). Upgrading raises the limit immediately.

Upgrades and downgrades

Change plans anytime from Settings → Plans & Pricing. Upgrades take effect immediately with a prorated charge; downgrades credit the unused portion of your current plan toward what's next.

What happens if you cancel

Canceling is safe — you don't lose your data by canceling.

  • Your account switches to read-only: you can still view, export, and back up everything, but not add or edit items.
  • Your collection is preserved. Re-subscribe anytime and you pick up right where you left off.
  • Permanent deletion only happens when you ask for it. If you want your data erased, request account deletion and we'll remove it. (Note that deleting the account destroys the account ID your backups are signed against, so downloaded backup ZIPs can't be restored afterward — take a backup or CSV export first if you might want your data later.)

Want to step away without paying full price?

The Keep Account Active option ($1/month) preserves your account and its ID while you're not actively using Vaultry, so your downloaded backups stay restorable and you can resume on a paid plan later. You'll find it above the tier picker in Settings → Plans & Pricing.

Refunds

We don't prorate refunds for partial billing periods, but as a goodwill measure we honor refund requests within 14 days of your initial subscription — just file a ticket from your account.
