Create your first collection

Updated · 1 min read

A collection is a container for one kind of thing you own — your firearms, your graded cards, your coins, your watches. When you create a collection you pick its type, and Vaultry configures the right fields, condition scales, and filters for that hobby automatically.

Built-in collection types

Vaultry ships with fifteen collection types, each tuned to its hobby:

Firearms · Accessories · Numismatics (coins, banknotes, tokens) · Trading Cards · Vehicles · Stamps · Bullion · Jewelry · Watches · Comic Books · Sneakers · Toys · Video Games · Books · Instruments

Each type gives you the fields that matter for it — a firearm has a serial number and caliber; a coin has a mint mark and grade; a card has a set, year, and certification number. You're not forced into a generic "name and value" form.

Create one

  1. From your dashboard, choose New Collection.
  2. Pick the type that matches what you're cataloging.
  3. Give it a name (for example, Pistols, 1980s Topps, or Morgan Dollars), and optionally a color and icon so it's easy to spot.
  4. Save — your empty collection is ready for its first item.

You can create as many collections as you like, including more than one of the same type (say, Rifles and Pistols, both Firearms). Your item limit is counted across all collections and depends on your plan — see Plans & what happens when you cancel.

Don't see your hobby?

On the Pro plan and above you can create custom collection types and add custom fields to any collection — build exactly the structure your collection needs.
